Black Oak Currant Butterflies

Today we had several things going on in the soap kitchen.  We filled a custom soap order, created a candle and soap order for another customer, and continued on in our quest for Butterfly Swirl perfection (we still have a long way to go!).

As we worked to make a candle that matched the soap, we played around with colors for the candle, adding more color chips with each dot.  Finally settling on #4 being dark enough.

We did the first pour for the candle,

we wrapped up the soaps for the other order, and we got the materials ready for a batch of soap.

The scent in today's soap is Black Oak Currant, and we think it will be a hit with our male customers (probably female customer, too).  +Rustic Escentuals describes the FO as "lush black currants and rich forest woods fused with intricate, vibrant notes of amber, balsamic amyris, black pepper, geranium, Clementine, and earthy patchouli."
How good can a scent be?  This one is terrific!!!

I chose colors today and had no particular rhyme or reason.  My only concern, after looking at the Energy soap, was that the color had to be somewhat bold so there would be definition in the swirls.
From +Bramble Berry we used Amethyst Purple Mica and TD (to which we added a little Diamond Dust Mica from +Natures Garden for sparkle).
The rest of the colors are from +Rustic Escentuals  - Enchanted Forest Mica, Aborigine Amber, and Black Mica.

The rest of the post is in video form, we hope you enjoy it.

We think we definitely see some butterflies in this batch of soap!  The bars will be ready to use in 6 weeks.

Alison's daughter sees a bird mirrored in these two (above) bars.  Do you see a bird?
